Education for life
Service Opportunities
Omni Montessori relies on dedicated and hard-working volunteers to do many things around the school. Whether it be helping in the classroom or through the Parent Association’s events and activities through the year, volunteers are at the heart of Omni’s commitment to educating the whole child and providing a wealth of experiences to make sure every child receives the best possible authentic Montessori education.
How our volunteers help
In the classroom environment: Class parents for each classroom organize and schedule parent, grandparent and community volunteers to help children read in the classroom, work in the garden, chaperone off-campus trips, assist the children is creating artwork for the Annual Gala & Auction, and many other tasks which allow the guide and assistant to focus on working with the children in their lessons. The Program for Adolescents relies on community experts from fields related to what the students are studying. These experts volunteer their time to teach the students about their field of expertise, and work beside them to pass on their skills.
Parent Association: Every Omni parent is automatically a member of the Omni Montessori Parent Association. All families (grandparents and caregivers included!) are encouraged to attend monthly meetings to stay updated on the many activities of the Parent Association (PA.) The PA organizes the annual Welcome Back Picnic, Book Fair, and Spring Festival, parent socials, and more. The weekly Minibus email newsletter provides news and volunteer opportunities throughout the year so it’s easy to get plugged in and offer time and talent in many different ways!
