Exploration into the vast world of science begins with the study of all living things, and provides Elementary students a solid grounding in botany, zoology, and ecology. The Coming of Life story covers evolution from single-cell organisms to modern human beings. Students delve into the study of vertebrates and invertebrates, anatomical systems, and classifications of living organisms. Teachers provide "key lessons" to introduce pertinent information, enabling students to research deeper into areas of their own choosing. The classroom and outdoor learning environments are abundant in plant and animal life for observation and study. And, like all Montessori programs, Omni students are encouraged to utilize the outside world as a laboratory for scientific exploration. Older Elementary students are introduced to chemistry and physics, to examine yet another piece of the cosmic puzzle.
