ELEMENTARY TEACHING ASSISTANT
Omni Montessori School seeks a full-time Elementary Assistant for the 2017-18 school year. This position requires love, patience and respect for children. The Elementary Assistant will encourage students to be independent and will model for them appropriate manners and behaviors. In addition, the Elementary Assistant will aid the Lead Guide in promoting a classroom environment designed to facilitate the social, physical and intellectual growth of students by following the tenets of Maria Montessori. Major duties will include maintaining the classroom environment, assisting in data collection and record keeping and providing supervision during non-academic times. DIRECTOR OF ELEMENTARY PROGRAMS
Omni Montessori School (OMS) seeks a Director of Elementary Programs to lead an established elementary team. The Director of Elementary Programs will ensure that the elementary education provided at OMS is in accordance with the educational philosophy and methods of Dr. Maria Montessori, as interpreted by Association Montessori International (AMI) by providing management and oversight for the elementary faculty and staff, including afterschool program personnel and learning specialists. In addition, this individual will be responsible for organizing and overseeing our parent education program. The preferred candidate will possess an AMI Elementary Diploma and a minimum of six years of Montessori elementary classroom experience, at both the lower (6-9) and upper (9-12) elementary levels, and previous administration experience. The position requires excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, leadership, management, and supervisory skills and reports to the Head of School.
- AMI Elementary diploma
- Minimum of three years as a Lead Lower Elementary Guide and minimum of three years as a Lead Upper Elementary Guide (or six years as Lead Guide of combined Lower and Upper Elementary classroom)
- Excellent written communication as well as interpersonal and public speaking skills
- A proven ability to work collaboratively and thoughtfully as part of a team
- Possession of professional maturity, sound judgment, integrity and the ability to interact positively with parents
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
