Tanya Polon - Adolescent Program Director

Tanya Polon
Adolescent Program Director

Tanya Polon assumed the role of Adolescent Program Director in 2013 after serving as Omni’s Adolescent Program math and science guide for four years. She is committed to a hands-on, land-based, community approach to adolescent education. Furthermore, Tanya believes in the innate capabilities of adolescents and enjoys fostering their independence and social development.

Tanya's background includes teaching high school physics, chemistry, and biology. She has worked as a biologist for the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources and as an adventure team leader. Tanya has completed the AMI Orientation to Montessori Adolescent studies.  What she enjoys most about leading the Adolescent Program, is in getting to observe the "ah-ha" moments experienced by both the students and the guides.
