Omni Montessori School (Omni) is committed to providing monetary assistance to those students who do not have the resources available to afford an entire Omni tuition.  Therefore, a fixed percentage of projected tuition is allocated to financial aid each year.  For the 2009-2010 academic year, Omni distributed 4.0% of its projected tuition income in need-based financial aid.

In order to assess need and to allocate our resources wisely, Omni enlists the help of a need-based financial aid analysis service.    This service does not decide whether financial assistance will be given or how much to give; rather, this service provides a report which includes a recommendation of what a family should reasonably contribute toward tuition.  All information from the service is kept confidential.

Financial aid awards are made on a first-come, first-served basis and may not exceed 50% of the tuition obligation per applicant.

The Application Process

For the 2010-2011 school year, Omni Montessori School will be utilizing the online service of Financial Aid for School Tuition (FAST) to process applications.  FAST will be the standard submission format for all financial aid applications.

The application process is self-guided.  You may navigate in and out of the program, allowing you to partially complete an application and return to it at a later time.  We suggest reading the instructions before beginning to complete your application.  FAST provides assistance in application completion through online help and a 24/7 helpdesk.

The application fee is $34.00 and is to be paid by credit card to FAST at the end of the application submittal process.  If you do not have a credit card or cannot budget the fee, please contact Cindy Curry at 704-541-1326, ext. 30, for assistance.

Upon completion of the online application, you will be required to mail copies of your 2009 tax returns for both state and federal income taxes with all applicable schedules and W-2’s to:

       FAST Processing
       ISM
       1316 North Union Street
       Wilmington, DE 19806-2594

Including “Omni Montessori School” on the outside of the envelope will ensure faster processing of your application.  A checklist of required documents and pre-addressed envelopes for the purpose of mailing these documents are available from the Business Office.

The online submission deadline for all applications is March 1, 2010 and your tax returns must be postmarked by March 15, 2010.  The goal is to have award determinations made and communicated in writing to all applicants by March 31, 2010.
